Have owned since 1978, A little over 1000 miles on most recent up-date. Needs new paint, 2 sets of pipes. Motor has S&S Sidewinder 88inch Big Bore Kit professonaly built, engine numbers all match. Engine and Trans are the only original parts, the rest are reproduction parts. Frame is powder coated black, strong running and reliable.

    1980 flh police special<<<<.. . i bought this bike in around 2000 from the scranton pa poilce dept. it was take by scranton to baer harley davidson , i got a copy of the bill it was arounfd $5000 for motor and trans rebuild.. they drove it home and never ran it again..when i bought the bike i changed everything to new chrome..99% of this bike is brand new.. in the 12 years i own it i only put 250 miles on it, it sits in my garage i havent even inspected it since 07.there is a ric doss tear drop front end on this bike it was almost $1000. i would rather see it go to someone who will enjoy it. nada blue book for this bike is around $14000 any questions you can call me 570-956-1741.. you will not find a nice bike..

Up for your consideration is a 1974 FX Super Glide that has a Wide Glide conversion on it. The bike has been completely Restored. Everything taken apart rebuilt, replaced, painted, chromed, or powder coated. This bike is better than NEW. The motor rebuilt from bottom up Jugs are 20 over. The tranny gone thru all JIMS gears. The kick and electric start work great. The bike has 6 gallon fat bobs, Paint is Very Good. The frame and swingarm have been chromed, with all the chrome you can bolt on also. Even Oil Cooler. Whats not been chromed is painted or powder coated the same color as bike. Has mini apes with windshield. Everything works, electrical and mechanical. This bike is ready to ride. No oil leaks or tranny leaks. After sitting for a couple of weeks not being started it will puke a little oil out breather tube but that is it. The pictures do not do bike justice, really needs to be seen in person to appreciate. Hello and thanks for looking. Please take a moment and look over the pictures and the flyer I have included. This is a nice1981 Harley Davidson Shovelhead FX. I believe in being honest with people. I am selling this to move on to another project. This is a good clean bike that turns heads wherever it goes. You wont pull up to an identical one at the local bike night, that’s for sure. This is a fair price on a nice bike. 
Now, is it perfect? NO! It is 31 YEARS old. If you want a perfect HD, please do not bid and go to your local HD dealer but be prepared to spend about FOUR TIMES the cost of this classic Shovehead. This FX starts, runs, stops etc. Lots of chrome and powdercoating. This little piggy dresses up nicely. A little mechanical ability would be good as well as it has typical Shovelhead quirks like a little oil here and there, the starter bendix doesnt always engage smoothly, vibrations, nuts and bolts loosening, etc. It is a solid bike but it IS a solid-mounted 80″ 4 spd so things WILL vibrate!! I havent been able to dial in the carb perfectly but for someone with S&S knowledge Im sure it shouldnt be a problem. Unknown if mileage is accurate but title says it is. 
Take a look at the flyer and read it. I have tried to include a lot of info on it but do not hesitate to drop me a line. I dont monitor my email 24hrs a day but Ill answer any questions as soon as I can. 
I have tried to be upfront and honest with anything I know about this FX – good or bad. It is cleaned up and ready to get back on the road. Give it a home and take your girl for a ride!

The original frame has been professionally hard tailed and converted into a rigid. This motor was professionally rebuilt from top to bottom and has less than 200 miles on it since it was done.
