Contact Jeff at 570 977 0741.  Up for sale is a beautifully restored vintage classic 1976 Harley Davidson FXE Shovelhead.  This bike is in beautiful condition and has only 587 miles on it since its frame off restoration.  The bike has a vintage new Hydra Glide front end.  This with the long front fender, double disc brakes and new Avon Speedmaster vintage 5.00-16 front tire.  There is 13 inch ape hanger handlebars with risers.  The bars are internally wired.  The handlebar switch boxes are new chrome units.  The grips are a classy chrome with rubber inserts.  The gas tanks are classic split fat bobs.  There is a vintage reproduction speedometer unit installed which works perfectly.  There is also a chrome tank inlay between the tanks down to the seat.  The tanks have the classic 3-point knock off caps.  The tank emblems are the 61-62 Harley FL emblems.  The seat is a Lepara Stiletto.  The rear fender is a classic hinged fender.  The tombstone taillight has integrated turn signals and a license plate bracket.  The motor has been rebuilt.  There is an S&S 1340 jug and piston kit installed on it.  The bike fires right up and runs great.  The carburetor is a vintage S&S Super B.  Carburetor is also rebuilt and has a brand new Uni air filter.  The shovel rocker boxes are chrome, and motor is tastefully done in with chrome accents as well.  The clutch is brand new and the original four speed transmission is rebuilt as well.  It shifts smoothly and the kicker has been rebuilt as well.  There is a brand new AGM glass mat battery for long life and performance.  The bike has an accel super coil and accel 8.8 mm spark plug wires.  There is new Autolite plugs in it.  This bike fires right up and runs and rides great.  There is an auxillary oil cooler to help keep the oil temperature lower.  The oil is clean and fresh.  This bike has had the frame replaced during the frame off restoration with a reproduction Paughco FXE frame.  I have the original frame and swing arm to go with the bike.  The original frame had a weak spot on it where battery acid had dripped off the battery box onto the frame leg and therefore weakened it in one spot.  I do have the MSO to accompany the bike for the new frame.  This bike has a clean Pennsylvania Antique title for this bike with the original Harley VIN # .  I also have a brand new Harley owners manual for this bike.  The bike is 100% turnkey ready to ride.  It is in beautiful condition.  Please check out all the pictures carefully.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact Jeff at 570 977 0741.

1973 Harley Davidson FX Superglide 4 speed . 1200 Shovelhead motor, rebuilt top end in 2001. first time the cylinders were bored. S & S Super E carb. Forks are 4″ over, and frame not cut. that along with the solo seat makes it look like the new Street Bobs. New wiring harness in 2002, as well as new stater and starter.The mags are from an 85, so I had to eliminate the speedometer assembly, so if you want to see how fast you are going, all you will see is a pic of Marilyn Monroe looking back. And the Battery box is signed bt Jerry Only , of the MISFITS! There is paint chipping around the gas tank holes, so I glued muskrat fur around them, and added some other fur “Accents”. New Battery. starts in 3 kicks or less, or you can use the electric start if lazy.If you dont know what a shovelhead is, dont bid. It has the usual drips from engine and  tranny ( rebuilt in 2002). 1/1/3 drags keep your neighboors awake! Ive had the Bike for over 12 years and did alot of work done to it to get it like this.No other reason for me to get rid of this than that ive lost intrest in the lifestyle. winning bidder must pay $ 500 via paypal. 1966 Harley Davidson Shovelhead FLH

First Year Shovelhead

 

This is a very nice 1966 Harley Davidson Shovelhead – First year of the Shovelheads.  It is a very nice example that has been well maintained over the years.  Based on the motor number (VIN), it would have been one of the last ‘66’s made.  It has been repainted to the stock Harley pattern for 1966, and the paint is very nice.  While the bike is not perfect (I ride it occasionally), it still has most of the 1966 original features that make this year and model unique.  All that said, you will find a few nicks and scratches and the chrome is worn on a few surfaces – it is NOT perfect – but the pics should speak for themselves.  I’ve just got too many motorcycles so this one’s got to go.

 

The bodywork is extremely nice with the original and correct one year only 1966 fatbob gas tanks (petcock at the bottom front of the right hand tank).  There are a few very minor nicks on the fenders (see pics), but nothing significant.  The ElectraGlide Emblems on either side of the front fender are original Harley from back in the day without the little copyright sign on the “tail” of the last “e” like the repops have.  Paint shows no significant fading anywhere I can find.  Fender tips are in nice condition.  Tail light lens is correct Guide RH-55.  Shocks are correct for a ’66.  Spots are original Guide H SAE 0 62 but are not hooked up.  Seat is in excellent condition and has no rips or tears.  Tires are near new, and I don’t see any cracking or issues.  Frame is original ’66 and has the factory stamped numbers up by the frame neck (yes, the factory used to stamp these, but they are not used as the VIN – not many are aware of these).

 

The title says the mileage isn’t original, but the bike runs so well and is so tight, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was correct.  (I had John Bordas – well known Harley Speedo guy – clean and lube the speedometer over the winter.) Rear brake started leaking a bit of fluid from the master cylinder – that’s what happens when they sit for a long time between rides – so I drained it to prevent any paint damage.  I will include a new rebuild kit with the bike (might even install it if I have a chance).  The front brake is fair at best – it squeaks and could probably use new linings and an adjustment.  There is still a fair bit of original hardware (nuts and bolts) on the bike.  The sidestand bracket needs replacing.

 

The engine and drive train are in very good condition.  The previous owner told me he had the top end done at around 16K on the odometer but I do not have receipts for anything he did, so take it for what its worth.  The motor is quiet and does not burn oil so I believe the top end was done when he said it was.  Cases are matching belly numbers. The bike starts easily and runs very well. I put a new battery in it last summer (a little over a year ago) and keep it on a battery tender.  Idiot lights all work.  Heads and cylinders are very nice, date correct, and it still has the original Linkert DC 7 carburetor and air filter, and the correct original Harley 65A Generator.  Mousetrap and clutch work fine and transmission shifts well.  Muffler looks like OEM to me.  It is seamed on the bottom and spot welded where it should be (I tried to show in the pics, but very hard to photograph the spot welds).

 

Buy it and ride it, or restore it while you ride it. This is a very nice example, but that said, this is a USED motorcycle and it is NOT perfect.  It is sold as is where is with NO warranty, NO guaranty or any other kind of ”–ty”.
